About the Role: The History/CRE Teacher at Eldoret Girls School will be responsible for teaching and delivering exceptional, real-world, inquiry-based History/CRE lessons aligned with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and deliver inquiry-based History/CRE lessons.
- Maintain positive, constructive, and professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
- Develop lesson plans and partner with the Learning Design Team to review and update lessons as needed.
- Create a conducive classroom environment for learning, appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
- Infuse joy and passion for learning in lessons to excite and engage students.
- Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for student growth and success.
- Be accountable for students’ mastery of content and academic standards.
- Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
- Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide effective feedback.
- Provide consistent rewards and consequences for student behavior and model expected behavior.
- Consistently meet the ambitious goals of a rapidly growing organization.
- Serve as a teacher on duty and support school-wide programs aimed at behavior interventions.
- Timely capture of students’ data on academic outcomes and communicate progress to NP families and stakeholders.
- Support clubs, societies, and other co-curricular enrichments to build well-rounded students.
- Serve as a homeroom teacher when needed.
About You:
Skills and Qualifications:
- TSC certification and a relevant Degree in Education.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility and openness to change, with the ability to handle uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity well.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and find appropriate solutions.
- Excitement about Nova Pioneer’s organizational culture, particularly embracing mutual vulnerability and continuous feedback.
