A fresh call for applications to fill 2,340 facilitator vacancies for junior school training under the School-Based Teacher Support System (SBTSS).

These changes are part of TSC’s strategy to curb unrest in schools such as Mbale Boys, which lost much of Term 2 due to strikes and fires.

Section 2: 2,340 New Teacher Vacancies Announced

In addition to the leadership shake-up, TSC is inviting applications for Facilitator/Trainer positions in:

  • Integrated Science
  • Mathematics
  • English

The positions fall under the School-Based Teacher Support System (SBTSS) initiative, covering all 47 counties — including refugee camp schools in Garissa and Turkana.

Basic Requirements

  • Must be a registered teacher with TSC.
  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Secondary Education (Maths, Science, or English).
  • Training in Competency-Based Education (CBE).
  • At least 5 years’ teaching experience in Senior/Secondary school.
  • Computer literacy is a must.
  • Currently serving in the county of application.
  • Not a serving head or deputy head teacher.

Added Advantage

  • KICD course panelists.
  • Trainers with experience in CBE, SMASSE, SBTSS, or Remote Learning.
  • ICT champions.
