TSC Issues Crucial Directive to Schools Ahead of 2025 National Exams
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a new circular to all schools as the third term enters its peak exam preparation period.
In a memo dated 2nd October 2025, TSC reminded school leaders that this term is critical. It must focus on teaching, learner safety, and exam readiness.
Key Guidelines from TSC
- Ban on Social Activities
TSC directed schools to suspend all social functions during this time. Activities such as union campaigns or public events should not disrupt exam preparations. - Restricted Access
During the third term, only learners, chaplains, and teachers are allowed to take part in school activities. Outsiders will not be admitted. - Strict Exam Focus
Schools must stick to activities authorized by the Ministry of Education and TSC. The focus should remain on exam integrity, safe learning, and proper use of school resources. - Teachers Back from Leave
TSC instructed all staff currently on leave to return immediately to support exam management and supervision.
Why This Matters
According to TSC, these measures will protect learners and guarantee smooth exam preparations. The memo also echoed the earlier directive from the Ministry of Education dated 27th August 2025, which banned all social activities in schools during the third term.
E. J. Mitei, the Acting TSC Secretary/CEO, signed the circular and asked Regional, County, and Sub-County Directors to enforce the rules fully.
