TSC Calls on Unemployed Teachers to Register at Sub-County
TSC Calls on Unemployed Teachers to Register at Sub-County The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is urging all unemployed but registered teachers in Kenya to visit their respective sub-county TSC offices for official registration.
This data collection exercise aims to streamline future recruitment and facilitate teacher placement both locally and internationally.
Teachers are required to provide key details such as full name, TSC number, ID number, academic qualifications (PTE, Diploma, Degree), subject combinations, home sub-county, and year of graduation. The move follows TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia’s appearance before the National Assembly Committee on Education to address concerns about teacher recruitment, promotion, and deployment.
The registration will also support the government’s new “Mwalimu Majuu” program, which seeks to export Kenyan teachers to countries like the USA, Qatar, Germany, UAE, and more. Eligible teachers must meet TSC and host country requirements. A comprehensive policy framework will ensure transparency, protection, and fair terms for teachers working abroad.
