The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has implemented several management changes in secondary schools across Migori County. This move aims to replace retiring principals and execute normal transfers to enhance service delivery.

  1. Kanyawanga High School
    • Outgoing Principal: Jacob Mbogo (retiring after a distinguished career)
    • Incoming Principal: Jacob Ajwang’ (previously at St Patrick Mosocho in Kitutu Central, Kisii County)
  2. West Kamagambo School in Rongo
    • Incoming Principal: Jacob Ajwang’ (replacing Jacob Mbogo)
  3. Nyamuga Mixed Secondary School in Rongo Sub-county
    • Outgoing Principal: Pauline Odinga (transferred to Nyambare Mixed Secondary in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County)
    • Replacement: Not immediately clear
  4. Nyambare Mixed Secondary in Karachuonyo
    • Incoming Principal: Pauline Odinga (from Nyamuga Mixed Secondary School)

Transition Highlights

In a recent handover ceremony at Kanyawanga High School, conducted by Rongo Sub-county Director of Education Duncan Odhiambo, outgoing principal Jacob Mbogo expressed gratitude to parents, teachers, and students for their support during his tenure. He urged the school community to extend the same cooperation to the new principal, Jacob Ajwang’.

“We have grown together in building our school, and now I hand over to my brother here. I urge you to give him the same cooperation as you did to me when I was steering the affairs of this school,” Mbogo said.

Migori County Director of Education, Jacob Onyiego, commented on the changes, stating that the movement of school heads is a routine exercise. He emphasized the importance of school boards offering their full support to the incoming principals to ensure a smooth transition and continued improvement in service delivery.
