Responsibilities:
As an Art, Design, and History Teacher at Rose of Sharon Academy, your primary responsibility is to teach students at the IGCSE level, ensuring they achieve their learning objectives in these subjects. You will be tasked with developing and delivering dynamic, innovative lesson plans that engage students across various learning styles and abilities. This involves not only imparting subject knowledge but also fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of historical contexts.
Your role will include the use of differentiated learning and assessment techniques, ensuring that the diverse needs of all students are met. This approach allows you to tailor your teaching methods and evaluations to support individual learning styles, helping every student to achieve their potential. In doing so, you will create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and personal growth.
Additionally, you will be responsible for continuously assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback that aids in their academic and personal development. Regular assessments will help you identify areas where students may need additional support, allowing you to adjust your teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaboration is also a key aspect of this role. You will work closely with your colleagues to enhance and refine the curriculum, ensuring that it remains relevant, challenging, and engaging. Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, with a focus on Art and Design. A combination of expertise in both Art and History is highly desirable, as it will allow you to integrate these disciplines in your teaching, providing students with a more comprehensive learning experience.
You should have at least four years of active teaching experience, specifically at the IGCSE level. This experience will ensure you are well-versed in the demands of this curriculum and capable of delivering high-quality education that meets international standards.
Strong knowledge of differentiated learning and assessment strategies is crucial, as is the ability to communicate effectively with both students and colleagues. Your interpersonal skills will be essential in building positive relationships within the school community, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
