Labour Relations Practitioner
Purpose of the Job
To defend cases at the CCMA, facilitate the resolution of disputes between employees and supervisors, coordinate grievances and disciplinary investigations, render an advisory service, conduct training on labour relations issues in order to contribute to a sound labour relations climate in the KNP.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Labour Relations or Human Resources
- A degree in Human Resources or an advanced diploma in Labour Relations will be an added advantage.
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience

- Sound knowledge of all labour legislation, policies, regulations, processes, and procedures

Responsibilities
- Provide advisory services on disciplinary and grievances investigations and hearings based on applicable policies, standard operating procedures, best practices and applicable legislation.
- Attend, represent and successfully defend SANParks’ cases at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)
- Research case law and or outcomes of previous internal cases and advise both line management and employees.
- Provide training on policies and standard operating procedures.
- Track clients’ enquiries and give feedback.
- Setting up and coordinating meetings with internal stakeholders
- Liaise with line management, employees and trade unions.
- Register and update all disciplinary, grievances and appeals actions on HCM systems.
- Ensure documentation and storage of all information.
- Monitor compliance to stipulated timeframes to the Disciplinary and Grievance Standard Operating Procedures

- Assist to create a climate of trust, cooperation, stability in order to stimulate a harmonious and productive working environment which contributes to a respected reputation.
- Ensure capacity building and compliance to relevant labour legislation and codes of good practice (conduct joint training interventions on rights and responsibilities of employees, policies and procedures, and role of shop stewards; between line management, employees and shop stewards).
- Train managers or supervisors on topics related to labour relations, such as working conditions and collective agreements.
- Facilitate information sessions to collect issues raised by employees and present them to the Manager: Labour Relations, KNP.
- To track and co-ordinate the details of grievance, disciplinary hearings and CCMA cases so that they are conducted and concluded within the stipulated timeframe.
- Assess risks associated with grievances and disciplinary actions and propose remedial action to Manager: Labour Relations, KNP
- Mediate discussions between line management and shop stewards in order to reconcile differences.
- Monitor line management and employees’ adherence to collective agreements.
- Monitor and accurately administer trade union membership in accordance with organisational rights agreements.

- NB. The incumbents will be expected to provide their own accommodation outside the park hence the package took that into account.

Project Manager (Meerkat National Park)
Purpose of the Job
A position for a Project Manager on a fixed-term contract up to 31 March 2027 (renewable on mutual agreement) is available at Meerkat National Park. This position is on a C4 Paterson Salary Band total remuneration package of R 28 170.40 per month as the incumbent will stay outside the Park. The incumbent will also receive a Tool of Trade allowance of 4 529.68 (must be suitable 4×2 vehicle) pending approval as per SANParks Delegation Framework.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Conservation or Environmental Management/Environmental Science
- Minimum of 2 years of proven project management experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience in rehabilitation techniques is essential for this position and or
- 2 to 3 years of experience in invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position
- 2 to 3 years of experience in health and safety management and compliance
- Computer literacy in MS Office packages
- Code 08 driver’s license
- Fluent in Afrikaans
Responsibilities
- Operational planning and assist with strategic planning for the project
- Managing of the projects according to organisational standards
- Managing human resources and logistics within the project
- Management of administrative and financial processes of the project
- Communication and liaison with stakeholders
- Compilation of weekly and monthly reports
- Monthly SHEQ compliance and reporting

GEF 6 Programme Coordinator (Fixed-Term Contract of 2 Years)
Purpose of the Job:
To oversee the coordination of the GEF 6 Programme within the Greater Kruger Footprint. The GEF 6 programme is a partnership programme, which seeks to reduce illegal wildlife crime, whilst supporting community governance and livelihood interventions in three community clusters bordering the KNP.
Requirements
- An undergraduate qualification in Environmental / Natural resource management/community development or a similar post-graduate tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in conservation area management and stewardship arrangements. Knowledge of wildlife crime and how it impacts the relationship between local communities and protected areas.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in project coordination. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders and experience in conservation projects liaison with local communities, and implementation within rural contexts.

- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- A valid South African resident status.
- Computer literacy in MS Office.
- Good report writing and presentation skills.
- The successful candidate should be an excellent communicator and should be able to facilitate the identification of stakeholder needs and develop effective responses.
- A background in dealing with rural and agricultural farming communities would be advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license (Code EB) accompanied by a willingness and ability to travel (note: own vehicle required).

Responsibilities
- Project management: ensure quality coordination, administration, and delivery of Programme activities.
- Stakeholder relationships: develop, strengthen, and/or coordinate actions around the GEF 6 Workplan activities through multi-stakeholder arrangements. This includes engagement with a range of project and government sectors, local community structures, Municipal structures, research institutions, and NGO partners.
- Environmental monitor programme: provide support to the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the KNP Integrated Fence Initiative.
- Stewardship incentives: provide strategic support to the stewardship programme incentives linked to partner projects within the GEF 6 sites.
- Livelihood opportunities: provide support to the GEF 6 programme in identifying livelihood opportunities, and the associated project support to identified initiatives.
- Human capital management: oversee the Management of the Fence Stewardship Supervisors.
- Training and learning: provide support to GEF 6 training and learning activities.
- Complementary funding programmes: provide strategic guidance for complementary outcomes linked to partner programmes, seeking to reduce wildlife crime, improve conservation-compatible livelihoods, and strengthen youth champion networks.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and learning: maintain effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning system, supported by the GEF 6 partner arrangements. This also includes sharing lessons learned from the three GEF 6 cluster areas and at a national level, for replication and scale-up.
Field Assistant (Meerkat National Park)
Purpose of the Job
A position for a Field Assistant on a fixed-term contract up to the end of March 2027 (renewable on mutual agreement) is available at Meerkat National Park. The Salary is on a B4 band, R 11 260.24 Salary + R 2 310.58 housing as the incumbent will be staying outside the Park.
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate / Senior Certificate
- Code 10 driver’s license with PrDP
- Computer Literacy in MS Office
- 2 Years’ experience with contracting teams/management of personnel
- Valid Health & Safety Certificate
- Experience in rehabilitation techniques and invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position
Responsibilities
