Important Announcement to All Schools in Kenya
The Ministry of Education has released a new directive banning all social and extra-curricular activities during Term 3 of the 2025 academic year. This move aims to ensure that learners, especially candidates, remain focused as they prepare for their national examinations.
2025 National Examination Timetable:
- KCSE Exams: October 27 – November 21, 2025
- KJSEA Exams: October 27 – November 5, 2025
- KILEA Exams: October 27 – October 30, 2025
- KPLEA Exams: October 27 – October 30, 2025
- KPSEA Exams: October 27 – October 29, 2025
What’s Banned During Term 3:
- No External Prayer Days:
- Prayer sessions involving parents, guardians, or visitors are not allowed.
- Only internal worship and prayer by teachers or school chaplains can continue.
- No AGMs in Term 3:
- Annual General Meetings (AGMs) must be held in Term 1 or Term 2 only.
- No Prize-Giving or Thanksgiving Events:
- These activities must be concluded by the end of Term 2.
- Annual Leave Suspended:
- All Ministry and education officers are barred from taking leave during the examination period.
Objective of the Ban:
The Ministry emphasizes that Term 3 is a crucial academic season dedicated to final preparations for national exams. By eliminating social events and unnecessary distractions, schools can provide a more focused learning environment for candidates.
Schools Must Comply
All Regional Directors, County Directors, and Sub-County Directors of Education are directed to disseminate this information to every school under their jurisdiction and ensure full compliance.
