KNEC launch training next week. How to APPLY

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will conduct training for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examiners from August 18th to 24th, 2024. This training is a crucial step in ensuring the integrity and quality of the examination process. The fee for training is Ksh10,500, which will only be required from shortlisted applicants. Details on how to make this payment will be communicated via SMS and through the KNEC portal.

Training Venue and Details: The training venue will be announced to qualified applicants. The training will be residential, meaning participants will stay at the training site throughout the period. This residential nature ensures focused and comprehensive training.

Subject Areas for KCSE Examiner Training: KNEC is looking for examiners in the following subjects:

  1. English:
    • Functional Skills (101/1)
    • Comprehension, Literacy Appreciation, and Grammar (101/2)
    • Creative Composition and Essays based on Set Texts (101/3)
  2. Chemistry:
    • Paper 2 (233/2)
    • Paper 3 (233/3)
  3. Christian Religious Education:
    • Paper 1 (313/1)
    • Paper 2 (313/2)
  4. German:
    • Paper 1 (502/1)
    • Paper 2 (502/2)
  5. Music:
    • Paper 2 (511/2)
    • Paper 3 (511/3)

Criteria for Training:

  • Must be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject area.
  • Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  • Must hold at least a Diploma in Education.
  • Must have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
  • Must not be under any disciplinary action by TSC.
  • Must be recommended by their institution’s head.
  • Must be 50 years of age or younger.

Application Procedure:

  • Access the KNEC examiners’ portal at KNEC Examiners’ Portal.
  • Existing CP2 account holders should log in with their credentials.
  • Those without accounts should create one following portal instructions.
  • Complete your profile and apply for training on the dashboard, selecting the vacancies relevant to your expertise.

Slots are limited, so timely application is advised. Ensure all required documents are submitted to qualify for consideration. For further assistance, refer to the KNEC portal or contact the KNEC office directly.
