KNEC Invites Teachers for August KJSEA Examiners Training, The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has started inviting teachers who applied to attend the August 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examiners training.
Many applicants have already begun receiving SMS notifications with details about the training, which costs Ksh. 10,500 per shortlisted teacher.
The upcoming training will take place during the August school holiday and will follow a hybrid model, combining online sessions with a face-to-face residential training at designated venues.
Background: KJSEA Examiners Training
KNEC launched its first phase of KJSEA examiner training in April 2025, preparing teachers for the Grade 9 KJSEA examinations scheduled for October 2025.
In the first round, teachers completed a brief online orientation followed by in-person sessions at various KNEC-approved centers based on subject specializations.

Requirements for KJSEA Examiners Training
To qualify for the August KJSEA examiners training, teachers must meet the following criteria:
- Be a practicing teacher or tutor in the relevant subject area.
- Hold at least a Diploma in Education or higher.
- Have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
- Be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission.
- Be 50 years of age or below.
- Have no pending disciplinary action or interdiction.
- Obtain a recommendation from their head of institution.
- Teachers from Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and TVET institutions are encouraged to apply for subjects like Home Science, Art, Music, Computer Studies, Woodwork, Metalwork, and Building & Construction.

Shortlisted teachers will be invited to complete both online modules and residential training, with exact physical venues shared directly with successful applicants.
Once trained, examiners will be engaged to mark the KJSEA exams in October, following KNEC’s established examiner recruitment guidelines.
How to Apply for KJSEA Examiners Training
Teachers interested in the KJSEA examiners training should follow these steps:
- Visit the KNEC Examiners Portal: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke
- Log in using CP2 credentials.
- If you’ve forgotten your password, use the Reset Password option.
- If you don’t have a CP2 account, select Create Account and follow the prompts.
- After logging in, update your personal profile and click on Apply for Training to view and select available subjects.
- Only teachers who meet all requirements and apply early will be shortlisted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Notes:
- The Ksh. 10,500 training fee is payable only by shortlisted candidates.
- Payment instructions will be shared via SMS and through the KNEC application portal.
- The physical component of the training will be strictly residential.
