Kenyan Teachers Appointed to US Schools via Partnerships.

In a groundbreaking move, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs has facilitated the placement of Kenyan teachers in various schools across the United States. This initiative is part of a collaborative project between private firms and the Ministry of Labour, aimed at expanding employment opportunities for Kenyan educators abroad.

Key Players in the Placement Initiative:

Two companies, Consult Centre Limited and PESUAR International Job Placement Consultancy, have been identified as the primary facilitators of this program. Consult Centre Limited is registered with the National Employment Authority, ensuring compliance with local employment regulations. PESUAR, a diaspora-owned recruitment agency, operates from the United States, providing a crucial link between Kenyan teachers and US educational institutions.

Official Statement and Flag-Off:

The announcement was made following the dispatch of 67 Kenyan teachers to the US by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. During the flag-off ceremony, Musalia underscored the rigorous selection process these teachers underwent. Both Consult Centre Limited and PESUAR conducted thorough interviews to ensure only the most qualified candidates were chosen. The 67 teachers who passed these stringent evaluations are now set to receive better remuneration and opportunities in the United States.

Musalia highlighted the significance of these teachers serving as exemplary brand ambassadors for Kenya, emphasizing the role they will play in enhancing Kenya’s image abroad.

Support and Guidance for Kenyan Teachers Abroad:

To safeguard the rights and welfare of Kenyan teachers working abroad, Kenya has implemented comprehensive frameworks. Teachers facing challenges in the US are encouraged to seek assistance from Kenyan missions. Kenya maintains an embassy in Washington, DC, and consulates in Los Angeles and New York, providing essential support and guidance.

Increasing Global Mobility of Kenyan Professionals:

President William Ruto recently highlighted the growing trend of Kenyans seeking job opportunities abroad, revealing that 1,000 Kenyans leave the country each week. This exodus underscores the increasing global mobility of Kenyan professionals in search of better prospects internationally.

The deployment of Kenyan teachers to US schools through strategic partnerships with Consult Centre Limited and PESUAR International Job Placement Consultancy marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s efforts to enhance global employment opportunities for its citizens. This initiative not only promises better remuneration and career prospects for the teachers but also positions them as vital ambassadors of Kenyan talent and culture in the international arena. As these educators embark on their new journey, they carry with them the hopes and aspirations of a nation committed to leveraging global opportunities for its people’s growth and development.
