Position: English Literature Teacher

Key Responsibilities:
As an English Literature Teacher at Rowdha International Academy, you will play a crucial role in shaping students’ understanding and appreciation of literature. Your responsibilities will include:
- Instructing Students: Guide students through a diverse range of literary genres, periods, and styles, from classic to contemporary works.
- Assigning Reading Materials: Curate a rich selection of novels, poetry, and plays that will challenge and engage students.
- Providing Context: Offer background information on authors and literary works to enhance students’ understanding and critical thinking.
- Teaching Language Structure: Impart knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and sentence composition to strengthen students’ language skills.
- Developing Resources: Create and utilize a variety of instructional resources to support and enhance classroom learning.
- Creating a Positive Environment: Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and a love for learning.
- Meeting Performance Goals: Set and achieve student performance goals that align with course and school-wide expectations.
- Participating in Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to continually improve your teaching practice.
- Managing Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative responsibilities such as grading assignments, maintaining grade books, and developing lesson plans.
- Pursuing Grants: Seek out grant opportunities to fund further research and educational initiatives, contributing to the growth of the academy.
Minimum Requirements:
- TSC Certification: Must be certified by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from a recognized university.
- Teaching Experience: 3-5 years of distinctive experience teaching English Language & Literature at a Cambridge Registered School.
- Additional Qualifications: A certificate in teaching International Curricula is a plus.
