ECDE Teachers to Take Part in KPSEA 2025 Invigilation

Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers will play a vital role in the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) 2025 for Grade 6 learners.

According to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), county government-employed nursery school teachers will assist primary school teachers as invigilators during the three-day national assessment scheduled for October 27–29, 2025, with rehearsals on October 24, 2025.

This is not the first time ECDE teachers are being engaged—previously, they have been deployed in both KCPE and KPSEA assessments.

KPSEA 2025 Exam Papers

The Grade 6 learners will be examined in the following five subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Kiswahili
  • Integrated Science
  • Social Studies and Creative Arts

Once selected, teachers will be required to log in to the KNEC CP2 portal to download their deployment letters, which outline their specific duties and responsibilities.

Requirements for Teacher Selection

During the selection process, teachers must provide:

  • Full name and current school
  • TSC number
  • KRA PIN number
  • National ID number
  • Active phone number

Key Changes in 2025 KNEC Exam Administration

To enhance exam integrity and reduce malpractice, KNEC has rolled out new guidelines:

  • Secondary school teachers will no longer invigilate KCSE; they will only serve as supervisors.
  • Primary school teachers will act strictly as invigilators for Grade 9 KJSEA, not supervisors.
  • No supervisor or invigilator will be posted to a school where they have served within the last three years.
  • All exam officials must sign a declaration of interest form for their assigned centres.

KNEC stressed that this move is meant to eliminate conflicts of interest that often lead to exam irregularities.

Official TSC Circular on Exams

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) issued Circular No. 17/2025 on September 2, 2025, detailing the nomination of centre managers, supervisors, and invigilators for all national examinations.

Key highlights include:

  • Exams will run from October 21 to November 21, 2025.
  • All nominated teachers must be qualified, employed, and registered by TSC.
  • Daily attendance for invigilators and supervisors will be taken online via the CP2 system, starting from rehearsal day.
  • For Stage-Based Pathway learners, one invigilator will oversee every 10 learners, with no supervisors deployed.
