Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Trends: Keep track of trending breaking news topics and political stories.
- Content Creation: Write and publish news and political stories that resonate with Tuko’s audience.
- Sourcing Ideas: Generate exclusive story ideas and source comments/interviews.
- Interviewing Skills: Conduct interviews and write special format articles, including features, analysis, and fact-checks.
Requirements:
- Journalism Experience: Considerable experience in journalism and current affairs writing.
- Writing Skills: Perfect writing skills, including narration and grammar.
- Editorial Judgment: Strong editorial judgment and ability to monitor current affairs news.
- Communication: Impeccable communication and interviewing skills, both written and verbal.
- Strategic Thinking: Must be a strategic and analytical thinker.
- Self-Driven: Strong desire to constantly learn, adapt, and work under minimal supervision.
- Remote Work: Ability to work remotely with a good internet connection and a laptop (minimum Intel Core i3).
- Social Media: Must be able to use social media effectively.
